Hints and Tips

What to wear:

  • Warm rich colors (red, purple, blue, navy)
  • Best colors to wear: navy, tan, brown, purple
  • Worst colors to wear: white, neon colors, orange, yellow (NO WHITE!!!!!!)
  • Timeless clothes (stay away from trends)
  • Choose outfits that are completely different
  • Pick four or five outfits and bring them all with you just in case one doesn’t work out
  • Stay away from colors that blend with the things around you (sky blue, green, pale yellow)
  • Pick solid colored tops (busy patterns drawn attention away from your face)(Especially stripes or animal print!)
  • Layers are a great way to change up an outfit quickly
  • Remember to dress from head to toe
  • Don’t forget to bring shoes, jewelry, etc
  • If you wear glasses, consider taking the lens out for the photo shoot so they don’t create a glare
  • Wear makeup or a little more than usual. The camera eats makeup so keep that in mind
  • For couples, outfits look great if they coordinate. This does Not mean matching!
  • Bring a pair of shorts or pants. A dress is cute but they limit the amount of poses.
  • Bring an extra outfit just in case one gets dirty (especially for babies and little kids)
